CAFOD continue to work with populations and agencies to help support those people who are suffering hardship around the world. Most of us will be aware of the recent events in Afghanistan and the earthquake in Haiti which is already struggling from the effects of previous natural disasters and political instability.

At the conclusion of the Angelus on the Solemnity of the Assumption on 15 August, Pope Francis prayed for dialogue and peace in Afghanistan and the victims of Haiti’s earthquake.

At this grave time for our sisters and brothers in these countries, CAFOD would like to reassure the Catholic community that they are responding swiftly to these multiple emergencies.

CAFOD is asking all to support their work by praying for the aid workers and those suffering and considering donating to their appeals either as a regular monthly donation or as a single donation if you cannot commit to this.
