The SVP group are coordinating the collection of food to support local charities and food banks.

The food banks and charities currently supported are:

Thornaby food bank

Middlesbrough food bank

Mary Thompson fund

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems. Nutritionists have developed a food parcel that contains sufficient nutrition for adults and children, for at least three days of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families in crisis.

Our collection box located at the back of church, with the collection on the 1st of the Month.

Items required include cereal, soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, sugar and biscuits.
