Bishop Terry will celebrate Mass as the Postgate Rally returns this summer after the event was cancelled last year because of the pandemic.

The rally, in honour of the English and Welsh martyrs and Blessed Nicholas Postgate, takes place at Ugthorpe on Sunday July 4, with hymns from 2.30pm and Mass at 3pm.

Although it is anticipated that turnout will be much reduced this year, the event will be a sign of the progress we have made and perhaps a chance for us to pray together in a special way as a diocese for better times to come.

In order for the event to take place as safely as possible, we will ask people to sit socially distanced in groups of six or in their family bubbles.

We will register names on arrival. Please bring your own refreshments and seating as well as suitable clothing, as there will be no provision for an indoor Mass in case of rain.

As usual, we are grateful to the Knights of St Columba, who will provide stewards.
