The final programme for the visit of the relics to the Cathedral in Middlesbrough has been released. The relics are at the Cathedral from the 2nd to the 3rd of October.

Sunday, October 2 – Cathedral will close after 10am Mass and reopen at 12.15 pm

1.30pm                     Arrival Service and Welcome, to include the blessing of 3,000 medals. Bishop and priests involved in the procession.

2pm                           Veneration

3.30pm                     Rosary – Joyful Mysteries (led by handmaids)

4pm                          Sung evening prayer

4.45pm                     Veneration stops

5pm                           Sunday Mass to include anointing of the sick.

6.30pm                     Veneration restarts

6.30pm                     Water Service to continue throughout the visit. This will start after the Mass and will take place outside in a small marquee.

9pm                           Rosary – Luminous Mysteries (led by the Knights of St Columba)

10pm                         Sung Night Prayer

Quiet time for private veneration and prayer

Midnight                  Rosary – Sorrowful Mysteries. (Led by the Brancardiers)

Veneration continues through to the morning

Monday October 3

6am               Rosary – Glorious Mysteries:  Pray for vocations (led by Lourdes nurses)

6.50am         Veneration stops

7am               Dawn Mass (Mass of the Day) to include hymns

7.30am         Veneration restarts

8.30am         Sung Morning Prayer

9.30-11am   Dedicated time slot for schools, with 11.30am finish. Primary school children to arrive at 9.30am. Secondary school children to arrive at 10.30am and to stay for the Mass. Witness from young people to take place before Mass.

11.15am       Veneration to cease.

11.30am       Lourdes Mass led by our Lourdes Music group. 

12.30pm       Blessing and Departure of relics at 12.30pm

1pm               Relics leave Middlesbrough
