During 2019, all parishes in the diocese have received a defibrillator. Ours is now installed in the room at the back of the church.

Defibrillators are used to try and reset the electrical signals in the heart in someone who has suffered a heart attack and it has been shown the quicker that the electrical 'shock' is given, the more likely it is to effectively reset the heart rhythm.

The defibrillator is designed to be used by those who have no experience or training in using the device and it includes clear and simple instructions. In addition, we will be organising some Basic Life Support and defibrillator training for parishioners early in 2020 so watch this space.
