Advent is the season of reflection and preparation before Christmas. This year the season starts on the First Sunday of Advent on November the 27th and ends on Saturday December the 24th.

During Advent we remember that Jesus was born into the world after a long wait and that he will come again.

Although the historical origins of Advent are uncertain, most of us will be aware of some of the traditions of Advent such as the colours of purple and rose. You can read more about the history and traditions in Advent here.
