The Church is now in what we call Ordinary Time. The green vestments worn at Mass remind us that God’s love is ever present just like the evergreen trees we see in nature. There is nothing ‘ordinary’ about the presence of God at work in our daily lives. We do catch glimpses of the extra-ordinary workings of the Holy Spirit, those grace filled moments which makes sense of the ordinariness we cope with each day.
In this year of mercy we need to make space in our lives to encounter the God of love and mercy. Take the Mass sheet home with you and re-read the scriptures at home or work during the week, finding those quiet moments where we can encounter the God of peace in the midst of our busy lives.
